Plotting and Planting in the Garden

E-mail Print PDF

When I got seeds a week ago I also purchased small seedlings that were grown in a local nursery. The day after I brought them home, the plants doubled in size. I was amazed. A friend of mine told me the plants were like animals in a pound: once they find an owner they take on a new outlook on life; their personalities blossom. The plants talk and feel and interact with the energy around them.

Starting my Vegetable Garden

E-mail Print PDF

The spirit finally moved me to create my backyard garden. I have never experienced a labour of love quite like this before. I give thanks for the hands of my grandmother leading my hands. I give respect to the farmers of the world, and my ancestors. Slave labour has taken on a whole new meaning.

Day Two - Long Island, Bahamas

E-mail Print PDF

By the time I ate, changed and packed up, Fal-e was already on his way for me. It was boat day. The breeze was blowing again, the sun was just rising and the water was calm, perfect for jet skiing. I had one more task to perform before we headed out...Read stories about the caves, Columbus and fishing.

Day One - Long Island, Bahamas

E-mail Print PDF

One Woman, One Island, One Mission: Freedom - I thought I might be going to Long Island to die, although I really intended for it to be a treasure hunt. I am home now. My clitoris is dislodged, after riding over 40 miles, against the wind, on an uncomfortable bicycle seat, but other than that I survived. I may have also dropped my cell phone off a cliff, into the Atlantic Ocean, by mistake, and I was robbed of $200, but I survived that too. These are the pictures of my adventure, as one woman, on one island, with one mission: freedom to walk close with God.

About Us

Memoir of a Creative Extremist is an ongoing conversation with God. It is my prayer for the day. It was intended to be a news blog. In a way it still is. Here you will read about the things on my mind and in my soul. The category Memoir is the story of my life as it unfolds inside my head and outside in the tangible world. Travelogue is a collection of stories about my adventures around the world. Reading Room is a taste of the mind candy I ingest from the world's wordsmiths. The Archives contain the category Prayer Book, which is a collection of thoughts and questions I have of myself, of God, and the world, and the category Steele Chronicles, which are stories about the late great R. Kirk Steele. Learn about the inspiration for the name in extracts from Martin Luther King Jr's "Letter from a Birmingham Jail".
